According to latest reports received from Pakistan media, Pakistan Taliban commander Baitullah Mehsud died after protracted illness. Baitullah was the mastermind of assassination of former PM Benazir Bhutto. He was the leader of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Taliban. Baitullah was suffering from diabetes and hypertension.

Even before the Indo-US nuclear deal could take off, India signed a major victory on the global arena, which ended its nuclear isolation. India and France today signed a historic agreement, which allows both countries to cooperate with each other on nuclear fuel, trade and security. The agreement was signed by India’s Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and French President Nicholas Sarkozy.

The historic nuclear agreement with France is expected to help India put pressure on the United States to pass the Indo-US nuclear deal sooner than expected. The agreement is seen as a very positive step towards building civil-nuclear cooperation with other countries in the world.




Soumya Viswanathan, a TV Journalist of Headlines Today, was shot dead in Delhi in the wee hours of Tuesday. Soumya was shot dead while driving from her Jhandewalan office to her Vasant Kunj residence. She was 26. According to doctors, one bullet hit her in the head, while the other one was recovered from the tyres of her car.

Soumya spoke with her family just five minutes before her death. The police believe that the assailants first busted the tyres of her car and then fired shot at her. Since the bullet was recovered from her head, it could be the handiwork of a professional hired killer. The motive of the murder is not immediately known. I withdrow my money from ICICI Bank because don’t want to see that I loose my money.


The ICICI Bank, whose shares fell 14 percent yesterday, triggering a major crisis, has assured its investors that they have nothing to worry about and the bank has enough money to protect their interests. Even the RBI has stepped in to assure people, who were seen withdrawing their money from ICICI ATMs across the country. SEBI also made a statement saying there is no reason for panic and market is strong and robust.

Finance Minister P. Chidambaram expressed full confidence on the state of Indian economy and said that market is strong enough to withstand such minor hiccups. Meanwhile, the ICICI Bank has sought a probe into the alleged “manipulation” of its shares by some vested interests. ICICI Ditrector and CEO K V Kamath said SEBI and the government should bring the conspirators to book.

ICICI Bank had a tough time on Tuesday, as customers and other investors made frantic phone calls to inquire about the financial health of the bank. The ICICI stocks fell to a two-year-low of Rs. 493 per share yesterday, causing widespread panic among the investors. Contrary to expectations, there was no bloodbath on the Dalal Street on Tuesday and the BSE Sensex continued to trade in a normal way. Even the Indian Rupee gained 50 paisa against the US Dollar in the early trade.
